James Toohill - Consultancy for Charities

For the past 15 years I've been working as an Independent Consultant, mostly (but not exclusively)  in the 'Not-For-Profit' sector. In that capacity, I've worked with/for around half of the UK's top 100 fundraising charities, with Third Sector umbrella bodies and more recently with smaller local social enterprises. Projects have varied around business planning, forecasting, business modelling, policy and organisational change. Some of the work I've done solo, some with other consultants eg the Foresight Programmes around legacies and donations.

This website has recently been redesigned and the pages of case studies and client references stripped out. These days most of my work comes from repeat clients or word of mouth recommendation,  so I'm happy to have ditched all the stuff which is uncomfortably close to embarrassing self promotion.

Other Stuff

I spent my prior career in Operational Research in the Water and Energy Industries and, in consultancy, for Central Government followed by a spell in senior management with a UK national charity. I've also gained experience in Governance as a Trustee of my local Victim Support, as Treasurer/Secretary of Lambeth Community-Police Consulative Group and as Non-Executive Director of Lambeth Primary Care Trust.
